Reflection on our 2024 Season—Happy Thanksgiving

As our 2024 retreat season in beautiful Italy draws to a close, I find myself filled with profound gratitude. Thank you for choosing to embark on the journey with us, for bringing your unique energy, and for sharing in the joy, connection, and exploration that defined your time on retreat.

There was laughter over shared meals, gazing at breathtaking landscapes, and quiet moments of reflection amidst the beauty of incredible Italy. There was space for growth, connection, and self-discovery.  For this, I am deeply thankful.

We all learned something about being in a group, being with new people and how adversity can be a place of learning and curiosity.

As we approach Thanksgiving, a time to honor gratitude and togetherness, I’d like to share a simple practice that embraces the spirit of being present.

A Gratitude Practice for Thanksgiving

  1. Set the Scene Find a quiet space where you can reflect without distractions. Light a candle, hold a meaningful object from the retreat, or simply sit in a peaceful spot that allows you to connect with yourself.

  2. Reflect on Moments of Joy Close your eyes and bring to mind three moments from the retreat that brought you joy, peace, or inspiration. Hold these memories close, and notice how they make you feel.

  3. Write Down Your Gratitudes Take a moment to list five things, big or small, that you are grateful for right now. These could be people, experiences, or even something as simple as the warmth of the sun on your face.

  4. Express Gratitude to Others Think of someone in your life who has brought positivity or support to you recently. If you can, reach out to them with a note, call, or message to express your thanks.

  5. Carry Gratitude Forward Each morning leading up to Thanksgiving, take a few moments to reflect on one thing you’re thankful for. Carry that gratitude with you throughout the day, allowing it to guide your actions and interactions.

Gratitude has the power to transform our perspective, helping us to find light even in challenging times. As you move through your daily life, I hope this practice serves as a reminder of the beauty we experienced together and the blessings that surround you every day.

Thank you, once again, for journeying with us. May this Thanksgiving bring you peace, joy, and a heart full of gratitude.

With love and appreciation,

Jane
